Hello, beautiful readers! Welcome to my blog post where I show you how serious my addiction to buying books is. No, joke. I have to stop, it is getting out of hand. However, I believe in doing what makes you happy so my addiction to buying books will have to continue until further notice. And with these new prices, I think it will have to stop sooner rather than later or my bank account will start showing negative numbers. But these new additions might jus be worth it.
So, check out this post for some insperation on what books to read this fall.

Right now in my life, I am only looking for books that give me those thrilling giggly feelings of happiness, which means that I hope these new additions will have fantastic romance, whimsical fantasy, tension, and even some good old mystery. You know that enchanting story where you never want the book to end and make you feel as if you could fly.
I will start this list off by saying that I have not read any of these books, but if you are interested in a review of any of them – then please leave a comment and I will get right on it. Adding to this I can not guarantee that these books are amazing since I haven’t read them yet. However, I have heard great things about them and really hope that they will be amazing.
May the book gods be with me🤞 Let the list begin!
The New Additions To My Bookshelf
#1 The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Tags: Paranormal, Mystery, Romance, Fantasy, Young Adult
I have had ‘The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer‘ book in my cart for quite a while. It seems like a classic YA fantasy romance, which has me every single time. I absolutely love it.
And in Goodreads, it has tags such as horror and mystery that will make it a perfect read for fall. There is also a rumor the hero is a more unhinged version of Aaron from the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. So I could simply not say no.
Rest of the Series:
The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
#2 Threads That Bind by Kika Hatzopoulou
Find Blurb
Tags: Greek Mythology, Mystery, Fantasy, Romance, Young Adult
I was just scrolling through Amazon when I found this book, and read that it was inspired by the Fates from Greek mythology which is something I haven’t read a lot about but seems so interesting. It also includes my favorites which are romance and fantasy if you could not tell. Also, the cover is beautiful.
Rest of the Series:
Hearts That Cut by Kika Hatzopoulou
#3 The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni
Find Blurb
Tags: Fantasy, Romance, Magic, Young Adult
This is another book that I have wanted to read for a while. I remember hearing it was similar to Throne of Glass which was enough for me to be honest. However, I also feel as if this book will have lots of tension and thrill. And because of this hope, this is bumping itself up on my tbr.
Rest of the Series:
The Gilded Cage by Lynette Noni
The Blood Traitor by Lynette Noni
#4 A Court This Cruel and Lovely by Stacia Stark
Find Blurb
Tags: Fantasy, Romance, Fae, Magic, New Adult
I can not remember how I found this book. But I am always and I mean always down for some fantasy adventure and of course that romance (what can I say, I am predictable) I hope it will be a fun and fast read, with some of those magical feelings only these types of books can give.
Rest of the Series:
A Kingdom This Cursed and Empty by Stacia Stark
#5 One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
Find Blurb
Tags: Horror, Gothic, Fantasy, Romance, Young Adult, Adult
From this book, I am hoping for some adventure and spook. I think it will especially give you those creepy fall vibes. Take you on a dangerous quest through a new magical world with thrilling adventures. I can not explain how much I want this to be a great read.
Rest of the Series:
Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig
#6 The Jasad Heir by Sara Hashem
Find Blurb
Tags: Mythology, Fantasy, Epic Fantasy, Romance, Adult
The Jasad Heir book is the first book in the series The Scorched Throne and the author’s debut novel. This book seems as if it involves all of those amazing classic tropes such as ‘queen in hiding’, ‘enemies to lovers’, ‘scheming’, and even more. The Jasad Heir is one of my most anticipated reads because it seems to have everything I truly enjoy in a book.
#7 A Shadow in the Ember by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Find Blurb
Tags: High Fantasy, Vampires, Paranormal, Romance, New Adult
This is an obvious read for me and I am not really sure why it has taken me this long to find it. I absolutely loved From Blood and Ash (another book by the author), the book is one of my guilty pleasures. From Blood and Ash is such a fun read in the best way.
A Shadow in the Ember which is the first part of the series Flesh and Fire is connected to the the series From Blood to Ash is in. The book has also received good criticism, so that makes me look forward to it even more.
Rest of the Series:
A Light in the Flame by Jennifer L. Armentrout
A Soul of Ash and Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout
A Fire in the Flesh by Jennifer L. Armentrout
#8 The Witch Collector by Charissa Weaks
Find Blurb
Tags: Fantasy, Witches, Romance, New Adult
I just can not get enough of fantasy romance with that thrilling adventure. What can I say I am predictable. So, that is the reason for this purchase.
Rest of the Series:
City of Ruin by Charissa Weaks
The Wolf and the Witch by Charissa Weaks
#9 Powerless by Lauren Roberts
Find Blurb
Tags: High Fantasy, Dystopian, Romance, Young Adult
I bought Powerless just out of pure curiosity. Let me explain, I saw it on Amazon with the big letters POWERLESS and that it was popular on TikTok which truly surprised me because I hadn’t heard anything about it; which is odd because I usually keep up with popular books on Instagram and TikTok. Not only that, when I searched for the book on Goodreads it had quite a high rating (4.48) with about 10 000 ratings. My conclusion is there for it has to have something. And just from the blurb of the book it seemed good. So that is what I am hoping for.
#10 A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross
Find Blurb
Tags: Mystery, Magic, Mythology, Fantasy, Romance, Adult, Young Adult
This new addition, A River Enchanted sounded just super enchanting and the added mystery and romance, and I stood no chance of saying no.
Rest of the Series:
A Fire Endless by Rebecca Ross
#11 Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross
Find Blurb
Tags: Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Romance, Young Adult
This is another popular read on TikTok. Though without sounding pretentious or making anyone mad I can sometimes think that the booktok community can be quite toxic, and I think we have to talk about it to be able to make it better. All those amazing reads and good intentions can sometimes be lost and we need to keep each other in check I guess.
So, back to the book; I think it seems like a very cute YA read with a historical fantasy setting and romance.
Rest of the Series:
Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross
#12 Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
Find Blurb
Tags: Historical Fiction, Cozy Mystery, Fae, Fantasy Romance, Adult
I am being totally transparent when I say that the foremost reason for me buying this book is its title and cover. Just look at it. With the mushrooms and flowers, the book looks like absolute magic and the title is just so sweet. This sounds like the most enchanting read for fall and I just could not say no.
Rest of the Series:
Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett
#13 Masters of Death by Olivie Blake
Find Blurb
Tags: Paranormal, Horror, Vampires, Urban Fantasy, Romance
I have actually never read anything by Olivia Blake but have heard many positive things about her books. So, I am quite curious. The book that interests me most at the moment is this one, Masters of Death, so that’s the one I am trying out first. Let us all hope this is a great new addition to my growing library!
#14 Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
Find Blurb
Tags: Mystery, Humor, Magic, Fantasy, Romance, Adult, Young Adult
In my professional opinion, the title says enough. Assistant to the Villain seems like the book I never knew was missing from my life. Everything and I mean everything about it makes giddy. I just know I will love it.
The thing about it being a book where Once Upon a Time meets The Office just says it all. To say that I have high hopes for this book would not be saying enough. I truly hope for an exciting and fun read with this new addition.
#15 The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton
Find Blurb
Tags: Historical Fiction, Mystery, Humor, Romance, Adult
This is a historical romance with mystery and do you really need more convincing? I did not. The book seems like a fast read with lots of laughter and thrill. That is truly all I ask for, I am simple like that.
Rest of the Series:
The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Holton
The Secret Service of Tea and Treason by India Holton
#17 Out On a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young
Find Blurb
Tags: Contemporary Romance, Adult, New Adult
This is another quite popular book that I saw on TikTok. Honestly, I think it is the cover that convinced me to buy it. I mean look at it, it soooo cute. The fact that it is a contemporary romance with a strong heroine and a cutie-to-love interest does not hurt either. I just see myself reading this book while sipping on a cup of hot chocolate and truly living.
#18 Jasper Vale by Devney Perry
Find Blurb
Tags: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance, Marriage, Adult, New Adult
I have read some other romance books by Devney Perry and have enjoyed them. And thought this one sounded fun. I was also searching for just one more romance read because what is life without them, and so I thought this one seemed like a good contender. Also, the whole forced proximity thing is just something I can not pass up on.
Other books in the series:
Indigo Ridge by Devney Perry
Juniper Hill by Devney Perry
Garnet Flats by Devney Perry
Crimson River by Devney Perry
Sable Peak by Devney Perry
#19 Emma by Jane Austen
Find Blurb
Tags: Classics, Historical Fiction, Romance
This is an obvious classic and since I am trying to read more of the classics I thought this is a really good book for that. I know this is a loved book by many and I want to know the reason for it. (The cover of this edition does not hurt either)
#20 Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney
Find Blurb
Tags: Thriller, Mystery, Contemperary, Crime, Adult
Honestly, I am kind of scared of this book. Thrillers aren’t always my thing. However, I remember hearing someone saying this was one of their favorites of all time and she seemed to have similar reading taste as mine. Unfortunately, I can not remember who but she must have been quite the convincer.
I will say though that it seems like quite an exciting read and it is sometimes fun reading things I am not as used to. So let us hope for I fantastic read!
I wish I could say thats all of the books I have bought recently but unfortunatly, for my bank account, that would be a lie. So, if you want some more insperation for what books to buy just comment and I will do a part 2.
